Circle of Fire

The essence of a spiritual journey using nature’s medicines and rituals is rooted in the same foundation:
The communion and balance of the primal elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space.

Fire is an element with unique qualities. If pollutants are poured into water, the water becomes contaminated; the same is true of the earth and the air. Fire, on the other hand, always remains pure; it is not tainted. Its essence is purifying—a light that dispels darkness and provides guidance from the very beginning.

The fire ceremony will be conducted in accordance with the ancient indigenous traditions of Mesoamerica, which state that 13-year cycles mark periods of renewal and are the times when a fire must be tended.

During the ceremony, tobacco will be lit in a special pipe called a “Chanupa,” along with consecrated mezcal, which will guide us within the Circle to connect with the fire, experience its communion, and receive its healing power.
