Offerings

An alliance

During the offering we symbolize the alliance of Mother Earth represented in the sacred space that we form in our Medicine Circle. We give thanks to honor our Mother Earth for the gifts granted and this gratitude is extended to all to generate the space of life and sharing (ayni).

Andino Offering

The Andean ceremony is an offering to Mother Earth, through which we restore in ayni (balance) all that she has bestowed upon us, both during and outside of the ceremony.

In Andean tradition, a “despacho” is an offering made to Mother Earth. It is a “Waca”—a sacred, unique, and intangible space or field. Through this ritual, a spiritual alliance is formed that benefits all who participate.

Pachamama is the giver of life, and gratitude is welcomed whenever it comes from the depths of the heart and soul.

At this level, Mother Earth always sends her signals of acceptance regarding the offering.

Within the space, each participant is invited to part with a material or immaterial object, so that it may serve as a gift, offering, or sacrifice (in the spirit of ayni) to Pachamama, for she welcomes the gift all the more deeply the greater the emotion involved in that gesture.
